The website came up in an online search for the item I wanted to purchase at a good price. As everything was in English, at a glance, there was no indication the store was in Italy. Shipping fees were said to be £16, however there was no mention I would have to pay £60 import duty to receive the item until it was already being delivered. I contacted Motorstorm about this and my emails were ignored.

The website is called "motostorm.it" where ".it" stands for Italy just like ".uk" stands for United Kingdom and so on - so we assume the customers understand where we are located.
As for the import duties, we also indicate the following both in the website and in the confirmation email the Customer receives once an order is placed in our website:
"Customers outside of the EU may subject to customs duties on delivery depending on the International Agreement between your country and the European Union. In this case the carrier will require that you pay the duty costs on delivery. International orders may be subject to customs clearance procedures that can cause delays in delivery."
The UK has been out of the European Community for three - almost four - years now and Customs charges are requested since then.
