Having said all that, happily in my case the process was the other extreme. My order of a Shad 59X topcase went smoothly: the price -- and with an included backrest, to boot -- was outstanding; the case arrived, via FedEx (at least the last leg of the journey, the USA part) at my home in New York state (about 150 miles north of New York City) nine days after I placed my order; the product was new, undamaged, and in the original Shad box; all hardware (including the backrest parts and Shad's universal mounting plate) was present, in their sealed packets.
So this was a perfect experience for me. From my reading of others' experiences, as well as my own now, my recommendation is that you order from Motostorm with your eyes open, i.e., be prepared to wait a long time, and possibly having to cancel or order, as the price you may have to pay for, um, paying a very low price. And as with my new topcase, I think ordered products are best left to those items that are not necessary almost immediately, nor by some date, but rather "would be nice to have sometime at this price point."
Put another way, I had a great experience, but one data point does not make a graph. Let me see if I can come up with something else to order, and I can start building up a trend with the company.
